Geography
Located in the west of the central part of the country. It borders on governorates: Shabwa (in the east), Abyan and Lahj (in the south), El-Dali and Ibb (in the south-west), Damar (in the west), Sana'a (in the north-west) and Marib (in the north).
The area is 11 193 km². The administrative center is the city of Al-Baida .
