- development and implementation of a national cybersecurity education program
- control access to the radio-frequency spectrum of the bands by licensing radio communications
- regulation of the use of the radio frequency spectrum and assistance in minimizing radio interference
- regulation of compliance with relevant legislation, licensing conditions, codes of practice, standards, service guarantees and other guarantees
- representing Australia internationally
- informing industry and consumers about the regulation of communications
