Heir
The father of Kylich-Arslan III - Rukneddin in 1196 overthrew his own brother - Kay-Khosrov I , who fled first to Damascus, and then to the capital of Byzantium - Constantinople .
The power of his father was undeniable, and he actively participated in wars with neighbors [1] . However, in 1204 he died bequeathing power to his son.
Coup
The news of the death of his brother quickly overtook Khosrov. During the exile, he managed to marry the daughter of the Byzantine court Manuel Mavrozom. The father-in-law provided him with mercenaries , and with their help the Seljuk returned to Konya, having removed his nephew from the throne.
