Biography

He graduated from the Novosibirsk faculty of the Sverdlovsk Law Institute in 1965 and graduate school at the All-Union Correspondence Law Institute in 1969.

In 1970, under the scientific supervision of a doctor of jurisprudence, professor A. M. Vasiliev, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of legal sciences on the topic “Structure, system, genesis as elements of historical and logical methods of knowing the law”.

From 1970 to 2001 He has been working at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation , including since 1992 as the head of the department of sociological problems of implementing legislation.

In 1995 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Law on the topic "Method of the General Theory of Law". [one]

Since 2001 - Head of the Department of Theory and History of Law and the Judiciary of the Russian State University of Justice .

Scientific activity

The range of scientific interests of Professor Syrykh includes both the problems of the theory itself (especially methodology) of law, as well as the sociology of law, educational law and some problems of the history of law.

So, V. M. Syrykh believes that educational law should be considered as an independent branch of law . He actively participated in the development of the draft Code of the Russian Federation on education, which was never adopted.

He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers on the above issues of jurisprudence, including 10 monographic works.
