History

By the 1930s, the Chinese Communists managed to create a number of Soviet regions in the country. In the early 1930s, Chiang Kai-shek ’s troops were able to eliminate a number of Soviet regions and create a threat to the Central Soviet region in southeast China. Under these conditions, the Chinese Communists decided to make a breakthrough and made an unprecedented courage transition, which went down in history as the Great Campaign . For two years (from October 1934 to October 1936) they fought along the southern and western borders of China, and eventually reached the Soviet region at the junction of the borders of the provinces of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia , which went down in history as the Special Region of China. Of the more than 80 thousand people who went on a campaign, only 7-8 thousand people reached the Special District. The capital of the Special Region was Yan'an .

In order to train army personnel, the University of the Red Army was established in the city of Bao'an, located in the Special District. On June 1, 1936, it was renamed the University of the Red Army of the Chinese people fighting Japan , or, in short, the Anti-Japanese Military-Political University . In 1937, the university moved to Yan'an. In 1939, three university branches were established in the northern part of Shaanxi Province .

In March 1941, the Russian Language Group was organized at the 3rd branch of the Anti-Japanese Military-Political University . It is with her that the history of Heilongjiang University begins. In October of the same year, the Russian Language Group expanded to Russian Language Courses at the 3rd branch of the Anti-Japanese Military-Political University , and in December became the Russian Language Department of the Military Institute of the Central Military Council . In June 1942, the Department was allocated to the Russian Language Institute of the Central Military Council , and in July 1944 it was transformed into the Yan'an Institute of Foreign Languages .

After the end of World War II, a civil war broke out in China. The Communists managed to gain a foothold in Manchuria immediately after the surrender of Japanese troops there, and the main governing bodies of the Communist Party left Yan'an. The Yan'an Institute of Foreign Languages moved to Manchuria, where in November 1946 it became the Institute of Foreign Languages at the headquarters of the North-Eastern Democratic United Army .

In January 1949, when the civil war was already over and the fighting went far in southern China, the institute was transformed into the Harbin Specialized Institute of Foreign Languages . Since June 1956, it began to be called the Harbin Institute of Foreign Languages , and in August 1958 it became Heilongjiang University .

In June 1961, the Heilongjiang Research University was annexed to Heilongjiang University, and in January 1972, the Harbin Specialized Institute of Foreign Languages.

In 2011, the Heilongjiang University together with Novosibirsk State University established the Sino-Russian Institute [1] [2] , where students are trained in six areas: biology, mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics and law. The peculiarity of this training is that the teaching of basic disciplines to Chinese students is conducted in Russian by teachers of the NSU, who specifically go to Harbin for this. Students of the Sino-Russian Institute, in the case of studying for a year at the Novosibirsk State University and defending qualification work in Russian, are entitled to receive a Russian document on higher education.
