Marriage

On April 16, 1882, the princess married Crown Prince George of Schaumburg-Lipp . In 1893, after the death of his father, he became the head of the Schaumburg-Lippe house. In the marriage, nine children were born:

  • Peter (1886)
  • Wolrad (1887-1962) - married to the Bathild of Schaumburg-Lipp.
  • Stefan (1891-1965) - married to Ingeborg of Oldenburg.

  • Friedrich Christian (1906-1983) - married to Countess Alexander Gedwig Castel-Rüdenhausen.
  • Elizabeth (1908-1933) - married Baron Johann von Frankenssdorf.

In 1911, Maria Anna became a widow. She died after 7 years at the age of 54 years.
