Heraldic description of the coat of arms

 In a golden field on green earth there is a black round well between the same two pillars with a gate and with a wheel with a right pillar, connected by a wire with a gate, inside the well is silver, a rope on the collar and smudges of salt at the edges of the well - the same metal. In the free part - the coat of arms of the Perm Territory [1] .

Interpretation: [1]

  • Golden field - a symbol of the wealth and prosperity of the city from the moment of salt production development to the present day and in the future;
  • the silver used to depict salt symbolizes the noble thoughts of the inhabitants of the city, the main of which was concern for the honor and glory of their native land, which feeds and protects people who love it;
  • the black color of the salt well emphasizes the historical prescription of the salt industry ("a tree blackened from old age") and items related to the production of salt extraction.

History

Coat of arms of Solikamsk 1783

The first coat of arms of Solikamsk, whose compiler is considered to be Count F.M. Santi , was approved on July 17, 1783 . Description of the coat of arms: ““ In the upper part of the shield is the coat of arms of Perm. “In the lower golden field, a salt well, with a bucket lowered into it for taking out salt, and with salt streams marked on it”. The salt well meant that the main activity of the inhabitants of Solikamsk was the salt industry, the development of which built the life of the city and its environs. ” [1]

In 1862, under the stamp reform of B. V. Köhne, the coat of arms of Solikamsk underwent changes: the Perm coat of arms began to be depicted not in the upper part of the shield, but in the free part; the salt well, the color of which was omitted when describing the coat of arms of 1783, was now depicted in black.

The historical coat of arms of Solikamsk was restored by the decision of the Solikamsk City Council on October 27, 1999 No. 227 "On the Regulation on the Coat of Arms of the Solikamsk City District."
