Biography
Shaun Olsson was born on March 2, 1967 in Beverly , England . He began performing at the professional level in the bobsleigh while serving in the parachute troops of the British Army and from the very beginning began to show good results. Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was invited to the national team as a pilot to defend the honor of the country at the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer , but could not reach the prize positions there, taking tenth place in twos and eighth in fours.
In the national team, he remained in the shadow of Mark Taut's pilot for a long time, however, after being disqualified, he came out on top because of the use of prohibited steroids. In 1998, their team went to the Olympic Games in Nagano, where in the program of four-seater crews they managed to get to third place and thereby win the bronze medals, which had to be shared with the French team, which showed the exact same time. Since 1964, this is the first UK medal in the bobsleigh, won at the Olympics. Double Bob Olsson finished less well, being after four races already in the fifteenth place.
