World Marathon Majors

World Marathon Majors - a series of annual competitions among marathoners , which has been held since 2006. For participation in the marathon athlete points are awarded. 1st place - 25 points, 2nd place - 15 points, 3rd place - 10 points, 4th place - 5 points, 5th place - 1 point. The top five in the following marathons is included in the test: the Boston , London , Berlin , Chicago and New York marathons in 2006–2012, and in 2013, the Tokyo Marathon entered the series ^[1] . Points are also awarded at the Olympic Marathon and at the Marathon as part of the World Cup .

The winner of the series is awarded a cash prize of $ 500,000 ^[2] .
