Biography
In 1973, at the A. Gorky Institute of World Literature, Academy of Sciences of the USSR Academy of Sciences, he defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of philological sciences on the topic “Vidyapati Thakur's Art and Bengali Vishnuite Poetry” (specialty 10.01.06 Literature of Peoples of Foreign Countries of Asia and Africa) [1 ] .
Since 1992 - lecturer at the Russian State Humanitarian University .
In 2003, he defended a dissertation at the Russian State Humanitarian University for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy on the topic “Problems of Understanding Indian Culture” (specialty 09.00.03 “History of Philosophy”) [2] .
Since 2006 - Director of the Institute for Higher Humanitarian Studies. E. M. Meletinsky Russian State Humanitarian University.
Member of the Academic Council and Dissertation Councils of the RSUH.
Member of the Russian Association of Orientalists.
He was a member of the editorial board of the Vostok magazine.
