At the time of the sailing fleet, additional sails were called foxes on ships, which were set on each side of straight sails on special mast trees - fox-spirits. With this knot, the foxel was laced up with pins to the fissile rail. It is well tightened if it is tied on round objects without sharp corners. It is considered a reliable maritime hub.
