Kudashev, Ivan Alexandrovich

Prince Ivan Ivanovich Kudashev ( June 6, 1859 - July 5, 1933 , Medon ) - Russian diplomat, envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary in Denmark, Belgium and Luxembourg, ambassador to Spain. Brother N. A. Kudashev .

Biography

From the old princely family of the Kudashevs . The son of the director of the Kiev private bank of Prince Alexander Sergeevich Kudashev (1830–1877) and Sofia Ivanovna Orlova . The brother of the diplomat Nikolai Alexandrovich Kudashev [1] .

He graduated from the Corps of Pages (1879), was issued a cornet in the Life Guards Horse Regiment . In 1882 he was enrolled in the reserve of the Guards cavalry.

Moved to the diplomatic service. In 1896 he was appointed first secretary of the mission in Copenhagen , in 1901, part-time - minister-resident in Hesse and Saxen-Coburg-Goth . Later he served as extraordinary envoy and plenipotentiary minister in Denmark (1906–10), Belgium and Luxembourg (1910–1916); ambassador to Spain (1916-1917).

He had the rank of state councilor and the court title "in the position of stalmeister ". After the February Revolution was dismissed, remained in Europe. He moved to France, lived in the city of Pau , then in Meudon .

He died in 1933 in Meudon. He was buried in the cemetery at Versailles [1] .

Family

His wife (since 1885) is Countess Olga Karlovna Toll (1863–1916), the daughter of Count Karl Karlovich Toll , through this marriage Kudashev became his brother-in-law, A. P. Izvolsky . According to A. A. Polovtsov , Olga Karlovna was very well brought up, very pretty and beautiful in herself, always laughing and cheerful, ready to walk, chat, dine and dine [2] .
