The population is 238 people ( 2009 ). It was founded in 1926 .
It is located 127 km west of Barnaul and 17 km northwest of Rebriha .
History
Ground
At the end of the XIX-beginning of XX centuries. on the site of the modern village, the neighboring village of Yasnaya Polyana and the now non-residential settlements Blagoveshchensky, Krasnopolie and Nikolsk, there were land lands of peasants from the neighboring village of Ust-Mosiha . Difficulties associated with the constant traveling, transportation of agricultural products and farm control forced their owners to switch from seasonal residence on the mansions to year-round.
As a settlement Verkh-Borovlyanka arose in 1921. In 1926 it was given the status of a rural type village in the Yasnaya Polyana village council of the Kulikovsky district. According to the census of the same year, there were 509 people in the village (232 men and 277 women), 94 households and a first-level school .
Etymology
Verkh-Borovlyanka received its name from the headwaters of the Borovlyanka River, located in the vicinity of the village.

Geographical position
Verkh-Borovlyanka is located in the forest-steppe zone of the Priobsky plateau , 35 km southeast of the river. Ob . It is located in the north of the Rebrikhinsky district , in the zone between the Kuchuk-Kulundinsky and Kasmalinsky tape burs . The average height above sea level is 250 m (the highest indicator of the area). Soils are represented by southern chernozems . Forest cover is below average. Hanging birch , white poplar , aspen , Tatar maple , acacia , bird cherry , viburnum , and mountain ash grow in the surrounding groves; in recent years, a growing population of conifers .
On the territory of the village there are several swampy ravines filled with melt water during the spring snowmelt. A kilometer from the center of Verkh-Borovlyanka there is a pond with a length of 800 and a width of 150 m. At the foot of the dam is a spring that gives rise to the Borovlyanka river. 700 m to the southeast is the so-called New Pond, now shallow.
Climate
The area is characterized by a mildly harsh winter and warm summer. According to Köppen's classification , the village is located in the zone of humid continental climate ( Dfb ). The average annual temperature is +1.9 ° C. The average annual rainfall is 460 mm, a third of which falls in the summer (June – August).

Economics
In the village are the buildings of Verkh-Borovlyanskoye LLC, which specializes in cattle breeding ; In 2013, the construction of a barn for 200 animals is planned. Located half a kilometer south of the pond is used for watering animals and fish farming; in the warm period, the reservoir attracts many vacationers. Nearby is a consecrated spring - the Holy Key, which is actively used to draw drinking water by residents of the area.
