Careers in Argentina
Since 1966, Delio Onnis began playing for the Almagro club from Buenos Aires, playing in the second division of Argentina. According to the results of the spring championship of 1968, Almagro played in a tournament with the participation of major league clubs [2] . The team took the penultimate place in the tournament, and Onnis, having scored half of the team goals, became the top scorer. The next year he goes to the club “Gimnasia and Esgrima” from La Plata . He played the first two seasons in France for Stud (Reims) .
In 1973, transferred to the debutant of the first division of Monaco . With Christian Dalger [5] he made the best attacking tandem in club history. In the summer of 1980, Onnis transferred to the club "Tour" . July 24, 1980 scores the first goal in the history of the team in the elite division; beaten by Stud Laval (3: 2). During the “Tour” he spent three seasons and twice won the title of the most productive player in the championship.
He spent the next three seasons at Toulon . For the fifth time in the 1983/84 season, he became the top scorer of the French championship.
Onnis did not play for the Argentine national team ; in those years, football players who played for foreign clubs were rarely attracted there.
Coaching career
In January 1990, Toulon accepted Sporting and worked with the club for a season and a half.
In 1992-1995 he coached the team of the third French division of FC Paris .
