Content
Geographical position
The village is located to the north-west of the district center - Alatyr , being its suburb. To the east of the village is the village Yalushevo . The Surskoye - Shumerlya - M- 7 highway passes through the village. Chuvarlei stand on the left bank of the river Alatyr . To the north of the village is Chuvarleysky Bor - a monument of nature. [2]
History
The name comes from the Mordovian ( Moksha ) "shuvarli" - "sandy river." According to legend, the village was founded by people from the Tambov and Kursk lands. The village already existed at the beginning of the 17th century as part of the fiefdom of the Alatyr Holy Trinity Monastery . At that time the village was called Troitskaya, or Podgornaya. The village left the property of the monastery in 1764, at the same time the name of Chuvarley was fixed to it. In 1832 a church was built at the expense of the parishioners at Chuvarley. In 1863, the village of Chuvarlei became part of the Alatyr volost.
In 1918-1919, a tuberculosis sanatorium was built near Chuvarley. In 1930, the collective farm “Red Port” was opened in the village, in 1935 it was renamed “Stakhanovets”, in 1957 it was united with the Yalushevsky collective farm. [3]

Infrastructure and religion
In the village there are a school, a kindergarten, a library, a village club, a post office, and a medical assistant / obstetric center [5] .
The Orthodox Church of St. James. It was built in 1823, is an architectural monument of local importance. [6] The church was closed from 1923 to 1997. Since 1994, the restoration of the church, which was in a state of ruins. In 2009, the chapel of Boris and Gleb was opened with a bath at the source “Studeny Klyuch”, known as the miraculous. [7] [8]
Transportation
Chuvarliya is connected with Alatyr by the city bus route No. 2 (this is the only settlement in which the city routes of Alatyr pass). Through the village also passes a number of bus routes on the highway.
