History

It is mentioned as the villages of Shemenitsy and Kondratovskaya in the Shemensky volost of the Vazhinsky churchyard since 1563 [2] .

BULAEVSKAYA (COAST or SHEMENICHI) - a village at Lake Shamensky, the number of yards - 12, the number of inhabitants: 44 m., 39 w. P.; Post station. Two forges. (1873 year) [3]

According to the “List of Populated Places of the Olonets Province” according to information for 1905, the village of Shemenichi was a bush of villages belonging to the Shemensky rural community at Lake Shemensky: Bulaevskaya, Pavlovskaya, Ryabova Gora, Kondratovskaya 1st, Dmitrievskaya, Bolshaya-Kara, Kebyalin-end (Shirkin pillowcase), Okulovskaya, Ivanovskaya, Grigoryevskaya 1st, Grigoryevskaya 2nd, Shapkin pillowcase, with a total population of 422 people [4] .

In the XIX - early XX centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Podporozhsky volost of the 2nd camp of the Lodeynopolsky district of the Olonets province .

From 1917 to 1922, the village was part of the Shemensky village council of the Podporozhsky volost of the Lodeynopolsky district of the Olonets province.

Since 1922, as part of the Leningrad province .

Since 1927, as part of the Podporozhsky district [5] .

According to 1933, the village of Shemenichi was the administrative center of the Shemen village council of the Podporozhsky district of the Leningrad region, which included 2 settlements: the village of Shekshozero and the village of Shemenichi itself, with a total population of 758 people [6] .

According to 1936, the Shemensky village council included 11 settlements and 119 households. The center of the village council was called the village of Bulaevo [7] .

From August 1, 1941 to May 31, 1944, the village was in Finnish occupation.

In 1961, the population of the village was 100 people.

Since 1963, as part of the Lodeynopolsky district .

The village is located in the central part of the region south of the highway 41K-001 ( Lodeynoye Pole - Vytegra ).

The distance to the nearest railway station Podporozhye is 67 km [8] .

The village is located on the western shore of Lake Beretsky .
