Biography

He came from the nobility of the evangelical-Reformed religion of the Courland province ; the general’s son from infantry Fyodor Vasilyevich Drizen . He was appointed a page on February 21, 1841 , on October 30, 1847, entered the Page Corps , and on June 11, 1855, he was made in cell-pages . Issued as a warrant officer of the Life Guards Rifle Battalion, upon release named the most excellent. From July 11 to September 25, he was in Moscow , as part of a detachment of troops of the Guards and Grenadier Corps , assembled on the occasion of the Holy Coronation of Emperor Alexander II.

On March 23, 1858, the baron was promoted to second lieutenant, and on November 20 of the same year he was sent to the Shooting officer school . On April 12, 1859, he was promoted to lieutenant and on October 31, at the end of the course, was sent back to the battalion . May 21, appointed head of the weapons of the battalion. April 17, 1862 he was promoted to headquarters captain , from May 1 to December 21, 1863 he was part of the troops of the Vilna Military District and participated in the suppression of the Polish rebellion . From July 24, 1863 he was appointed company commander , in the same year on August 30, Drizden was promoted to captain . He passed the position of head of the weapons department on January 2, 1864 .

November 28, 1867 appointed junior headquarters officer in the Life Guards Tsarskoye Selo Rifle Battalion ; March 31, 1868 promoted to colonel , and August 30 of the same year he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav 2nd degree. On August 30, 1870 he was awarded the same order of the same degree but with the Imperial Crown.

On April 21, 1871, N.F.Driesen was appointed commander of the 2nd Infantry Field Marshal of the Baryatinsky Battalion. On January 7, 1873 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree and on February 25 of the same year he was appointed commander of the 111th Don Infantry Regiment . March 25, 1875 was fired on vacation with deductions for the army infantry and retained for a period of one year. On October 12, 1876 ​​he was appointed the Rostov district military commander and the head of the Rostov military semi-hospital. On September 27, 1877, Driesen was appointed commander of the 123rd Kozlovsky Infantry Regiment , which was part of the Danube Army - at that time the regiment was located in the village of Markov near Philippol .

Soon the regiment was transferred to the village of Dermen-dere , here the baron led the Derment detachment during the suppression of the uprising in the Rhodope Mountains and during the pursuit of the Bashibuzuk . On July 12, the Kozlovsky regiment sailed through Tatar-Bazaradzhik and Ihtiman to the city of Sofia , and the regiment was assigned the correction of the highway for the free movement of troops and their convoys . From August 10, 1878 to May 18, 1879, the regiment was in Sofia, as part of the occupation forces. Baron Driesen took an active part in the renewal of the city. On May 18, 1878, the regiment marched back to Russia , following the cities of Orhaniye , Plevna and Bela to Ruschuk ; here the regiment was put on the barges that delivered the regiment to Reni .

On June 13, 1880, Baron Driesen "for excellent-diligent service and work incurred in the army," was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir 4th degree. In the same year, according to the decree of the Main Directorate of the Society for the Care of Sick and Wounded Wars, on August 23 he was given the sign of the red cross. For excellent-diligent service as part of the occupation forces in the Bulgarian Principality, Baron Driesen was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree on January 23, 1881 . On the day of the Holy Coronation of Emperor Alexander III on May 15, 1883, he was promoted to major general with the leaving of the regiment commander; November 25, 1884 he was appointed commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 16th Infantry Division , with enrollment in the army infantry.

August 30, 1887 awarded the Order of St. Stanislav 1st degree; April 7, 1889 was credited to the reserve, and the next year he was serving a camp camp at the 29th Infantry Division . October 30, 1890 he was appointed commander of the 2nd brigade of the 25th Infantry Division . According to the Decree of the Governing Senate No. 2365 and the Highest Approved May 23, 1894, the opinions of the State Council of the Baron should now be named after Baron von der Osten-Driesen. On December 6 of the same year he was awarded the Order of St. Anna of the 1st degree. April 8, 1896 was appointed head of the 25th Infantry Division. In 1899 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 2nd degree.

Baron Nikolai Fedorovich was married to Praskovye Vasilievna Orzhevskaya (10/05/1846 - 10/21/1900). Daughter Olga, born July 16, 1868 , was married to Dmitry Fedorovich Gagman .
