The Ministry of the Environment ( Swede. Miljödepartementet ) is responsible for environmental issues and construction in Sweden . The ministry also has overall responsibility for coordinating government work on sustainable development .

The ministry office is located in the center of Stockholm
History
The Ministry was founded in 1987 as the Ministry of the Environment and Energy. Initially, the Ministry of Agriculture dealt with environmental issues, and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship dealt with energy issues.
In 1990, it was renamed the Ministry of the Environment.
