Role-playing game

Word role-playing game is a type of role-playing game with a complete absence of a material component: the game takes place exclusively through the verbal interaction of players describing the actions of their characters and a master who describes the realities of the world and the reactions of the characters' workshops . It can be carried out (take place) in real life and on the Internet.

Also, any board role-playing game with its own, original set of rules is often called verbal. One of the most famous board word games is the Mafia .

A kind of verbal role-playing game is textual. On the Internet, word-for-word text-based role-playing games are usually called verbal ( TRPG, Eng. TRPG - text role-playing game (Text Role Plaing Game), FRG (forum RPG)).

Text games can be written and oral.

An oral verbal role-playing game looks like a festival of storytellers and troubadours: participants tell a story in turn, starting from who leads which lines of story and which characters leads. This type of text games is little known and requires a high level of concentration and good interaction from the participants.

Forum text role-playing games use, you guessed it, online forums. The game process itself is a group of people modeling a given situation. Each of the players plays his own character.

Role-playing games can be original or based on some titles / fandoms. In the latter case, the role-playing takes place with the plot, characters, events, which are described in one or another anime / book / series / film / cartoon, etc.

In games based on existing titles / fandoms, the player’s ability to get used to the already known image and convincingly convey it (to play) is most valued; in games-originals that use original worlds, plots, and characters, characters are invented and suggested by the master, or each player invents a character for himself. The plot of the game in any case is usually offered by the master. In games on already existing universes, these can be roleplaying of title plots or variations, as well as AU (alternative universe) plots - this term refers to the transfer of title characters to another time, other circumstances, and not just a completely “different world”.

Role playing is a popular intellectual entertainment. The game audience of text role-playing games intersects closely with the audience of readers and authors of fan fiction .
