The PZL TS-11 was the first jet aircraft developed in Poland. Work on the development of this aircraft began in 1957, the first prototype took off on February 5, 1960. The next two prototypes, in March and July 1961. The chief designer was Tadeusz Soltyk - hence the designation TS.
TS-11 Iskra-bis, was produced from 1963. Serially produced until 1987 (424 aircraft built). 50 aircraft were exported to India in 1975, and then another 26 in 1990.
