42nd Street - Bryant Park / Fifth Avenue ( English 42nd Street / Fifth Avenue - Bryant Park ) - one of the many interchange nodes between the stations of the New York Metro . The transfer complex consists of stations of only two lines (there are quite a few of them in the system) - IRT Flushing Line and IND Sixth Avenue Line . Previously, the platforms of these lines were not interconnected, but later a pedestrian tunnel was built between the stations. At the moment, the transfer hub serves the following metro routes:
- 7 , D and F - work all the time
- B and M - stop only on weekdays, except late at night
- <7> - only works during peak hours in the peak direction.

The aforementioned junction between the stations was built in 1968 . True, before its construction, passengers and so did not overpay when moving to the next station. For a free transition, a ticket system was introduced, which passengers received at their station and handed over in the lobby of the next. The transition procedure took much longer than at the moment. The decision to build a junction was made because of the increased passenger traffic and numerous passenger complaints. In 1998, a major overhaul was carried out at both interchange hub stations.

Fifth Avenue, Fifth Avenue, is one of two stations in the complex, located on the IRT Flushing Line and serves trains on routes 7 and <7> . The station is a single island platform, slightly curved. There are no special mosaics on the walls - ordinary tiles (some say “5” - 5 Avenue). Also the names of the station (now full) are placed on the platform supports. Above the platform is a mezzanine , leading to the next station, as well as to Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Opened as part of the first line of the IRT Flushing Line in 1926.

42nd Street - Bryant Park ( Eng. 42nd Street - Bryant Park ) - station on the IND Sixth Avenue Line . It was opened in its structure in 1940 and had no transition to the next station until 1968. The station is represented by two island platforms serving 4 paths (2 each). Internal routes are intended for express trains ( B and D ), external routes are for local trains ( F and M ). The section between the 42nd Street - Bryant Park and 34th Street - Herald Square stations has a mezzanine - a pedestrian tunnel located directly above the metro tracks. This tunnel has an intermediate exit on 38th Street and was used for its intended purpose. The passage was long (7 blocks!), And even poorly lit. In the mid-1980s, the mezzanine was closed due to the murder that occurred there. Now used as a warehouse. South of the station there are numerous congresses that are used to change the mode of operation of trains (local can become express trains and vice versa) in both directions.
