Biography
Bernice Schubert was born on October 6, 1913 in the city of Boston. In 1935 she received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst . From 1936 to 1949, Schubert worked at Gray’s Herbarium at Harvard University . In 1937 she became a master, in 1942 - a doctor of philosophy at Radcliffe College . From 1950 to 1951 she worked in the Brussels Botanical Garden . Schubert then returned to Harvard University, where she worked until 1984 . She taught biology, and was also curator of Arnold Arnold and editor-in-chief of Journal of the Arnold Arboretum . Schubert participated in the creation of the International Association of Plant Systematics ( IAPT ). Bernice Schubert died on August 14, 2000 in the city of Lexington .
