The Simalurian language , or the Simeloue language (Simalur. Simeulue , indon. Bahasa Devayan ) is an Austronesian language, widespread in Indonesia , on the island of Simeulue (Simalur) (off the northwestern coast of Sumatra ) and the nearby islands of Babi and Banjak. The total number of native speakers is about 30,000 people [2] [3] , but since it was to the north of Simelue Island (Simalur) that there was an epicenter of the Indian Ocean earthquake in 2004 , leading to tsunamis and numerous casualties on the shores of the Indian Ocean , Now the number of native speakers is difficult.
