Biography
Born in a family of employees.
He graduated from the historical and philological faculty of Moscow University in 1917 .
During the civil war he was a member of the Red Army , worked in the political department of the Western Front .
In 1923 he became an assistant professor at Smolensk State University .
In 1924 he entered the Institute of the Red Professors , at the end of the legal department of which he was sent to teaching at the Tatar Communist University in Kazan .
During training since 1926 he taught at the Moscow Mining Academy , taught the course "State System".
Since 1928 - Associate Professor of Kazan State University , where he gives lectures on the general theory of state and law .
From June 27, 1928 to April 19, 1929 he was rector of Kazan University .
In 1929 - 1939 Head of Department at Belarusian State University .
Since 1939 he has been in teaching and research in Moscow. He works at the Military Law Academy of the Red Army , Institute of Law of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR , and since 1945 - at the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov .
Professor (since 1947 ), Doctor of Law honoris causa (since 1961 ).
He was awarded a number of state awards.
Scientific activity
P. N. Galanza was the author of numerous scientific and educational works in the field of the history of state and law, as well as the history of political and legal doctrines.
So, he wrote the first Soviet textbooks on the general history of state and law (after the resumption of the teaching of this discipline in legal universities of the USSR in 1938 ).
