The most prominent representatives of the clan are Nicola de Neuville , Senier de Villeroy ( fr. Nicolas IV de Neufville de Villeroy ; 1542-1617), who managed to win the favor of Catherine de Medici and, becoming Minister of Charles IX , remained in this position with the following three kings: Henry III , Henry IV and Louis XIII . He left behind the famous " Mémoires d'état, depuis 1567 jusqu'à 1604 " ( Paris , 1622; continued until 1620, Paris, 1634) [1] .
His grandson, Nicola de Neuville , later the 1st Duke de Villeroy ( fr. Nicolas de Neufville de Villeroy ; 1598-1685) - a military and statesman [1] .
His son, Francois de Neuville (1644-1730) - 2nd Duke, Marshal of France, who commanded the French troops in the war for the Spanish inheritance.
