Aberdeen is located in the northeast of South Dakota, in the James River Valley, about 18 kilometers from it. According to the US Census Bureau, the area of the city is about 34 square kilometers, including 0.26 km 2 (0.54%) - the water surface.

Schools
Aberdeen has five primary schools , three secondary schools and three parish schools . There is also a school for the blind and visually impaired [6] .
Higher Education
Northern State University is a university founded in 1901 . For the 2006-2007 academic year, 2528 students studied at the university. On average, there were 19 students per teacher. The university offers training in thirty-eight specialties. The mascot is a wolf .
Also in the city is a college , in which education is carried out mainly in the field of health .
Health
Currently, the city has one hospital , as well as several nursing homes .
