Emblem of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Soviet period)

In Soviet times, in the 80s, a souvenir badge was issued with a coat of arms emblem of the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The emblem had the following appearance: against the background of the blue sea and the rising golden sun in a red field there is a silver heraldic shield in which a golden rising bear holds a fish in its paws; at the base of the emblem, the city was founded in 1882 .

One of the main figures of the emblem - the rising bear became the prototype of the bears of the official coat of arms of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
