It originates from Fedor and Neklyud of the Moklokovy Cherevins, who served the Grand Duke Vasily Ivanovich and granted in 1515 estates in the Galich district.
The most famous: Rear Admiral Ivan Grigoryevich Cherevin (1702-1757); the adjutant of Emperor Paul I and the head of the second regiment of the militia of the Kostroma province in 1812, Dmitry Petrovich Cherevin (1772-1816); Lieutenant General, Comrade Minister of the Interior in 1880-1883 Peter Alexandrovich Cherevin (1837-1896).
The history also preserved the name of a member of the Union of Welfare and Northern Society Pavel Dmitrievich Cherevin (1802-1824) and his sister, who was married to P. D. Gorchakov .
The Cherevins clan is recorded in the VI part of the genealogy book of the provinces of Kostroma, Yaroslavl and Moscow. In the Soligalichsky district , the family owned the Neronovo estate, in which the artist G.S. Ostrovsky painted 17 portraits of the Cherevins, their relatives and neighbors.
There are several more genera of the Cherevins of a later origin.
Emblem Description
The shield is divided perpendicularly into two parts, of which in the right field in the blue field are depicted crosswise three silver Arrows without feathers, pointing to the tips: the last two down, and the middle up, connected in the middle by red Cherevs. On the left side in the golden field half of the black single-headed eagle with an open wing is visible having a Scepter in its paw.
The shield is crowned with a noble helmet and crown. Crest: three ostrich feathers. The mark on the shield on the right side is blue with gold, and on the left, gold with red. The coat of arms of the Cherevins family is included in Part 3 of the General Tombstone of the noble families of the All-Russian Empire, p. 33.
