Avi Nesher ( Heb. אבי נשר born on December 13, 1953 , Ramat Gan , Israel ) is an Israeli actor , film director [1] , screenwriter and producer .

Biography
Avi Nesher was born on December 13, 1953 in the Israeli city of Ramat Gan , in the family of a repatriate diplomat from Romania and a mother who was born in Russia . In 1965, Avi, along with his family, emigrated to the United States of America . After graduating from high school at sixteen, Nesher began studying international relations at Columbia University . In 1971, he returned to Israel and was called to serve in Sayeret Matkal (an elite unit of the Israel Defense Forces ) [2] .
In 1984, Avi shot the film “ Anger and Triumph, ” after viewing this picture, Dino De Laurentis invited Nesher to make films in the United States [3] .
