Small Yashalta [4] [1] [5] (Malaya Yashalta [2] ) is a salt [1] lake in the central part of the Yashalt district of the Republic of Kalmykia [5] [6] .

The surface area is 12.5 km² [2] .
Belongs to the Manych Lake Group . The hydrological regime of the lake is unstable, depending on the amount of precipitation. The lake is fueled by leaching of marine soil sediments by rain, melt and groundwater [7] . The lake periodically dries up [8] .
