guvcview

Guvcview (GTK + UVC Viewer) is a computer program for working with webcams , performing the functions of photographing and video filming. Guvcview works with webcams using the UVC video transmission protocol and supported by the UVC driver for the Linux operating system [6] or the Video4Linux software (V4L2) [3] .

Functions

General Settings

  • Optical resolution , measured in pixels .
  • Focal length (if supported by the camera).
  • LED backlight (if available).
  • Color model - MJPG, RGB / BGR, YUV (YU12 and YV12).
  • Brightness, contrast , saturation, color temperature of white balance (automatic or manual setting 0-10000 K ), gain, consideration of the frequency of light emission (50, 60 Hz , depending on the power grid , or without), sharpness, compensation of bright areas, exposure (automatic, manual, with a priority shutter speed or aperture ), shutter speed (in milli seconds ), frame rate mode.
  • Automatic numbering of names of saved files.
  • Choosing a place to save.
  • Image effects: reflection horizontally and vertically, negative , in black and white, mosaic, "particles".
  • Saving the settings in the created profiles, as well as restoring the initial settings used by default .

Photographing

Adjustable parameters:

Video Recording

Adjustable parameters:

  • Video codec - MJPEG , YUY2 (uncompressed YUV ), RGB (uncompressed BMP ), MPEG-1 , FLV 1 ( H.263 ), WMV ( VC-1 ), MPEG-2 , MP4 V3, MPEG-4 ASP, MPEG-4 AVC ( H.264 ).
  • Video format ( media container ) - AVI or MKV .
  • The frame rate per second - 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
  • Display in the program interface of the current frame rate value (in the title bar of the window).

Sound settings

Sound settings are available when there is a microphone connected to the computer.

  • Select a sound input device (microphone).
  • Audio API selection - PulseAudio or PortAudio .
  • The sampling rate is 8000–96000 Hz .
  • Bit rate value ( kbps )
  • The number of channels is 1 ( mono ) or 2 ( stereo , with a stereo microphone).
  • Audio format - PCM (uncompressed sound with a sampling depth of 16 bits ), MPEG-2 , MP3 , AC3 , AAC Low.
  • Effects - echo , reverb , fuzz , "wrap", "duckling".
  • Mute the sound.
  • Display in the program interface of the sound volume level ( sound level meter ) during video recording.

  • GTK + 2 is up to guvcview version 1.5.0, and GTK + 3 since guvcview 1.5.1.
  • JACK Audio Connection Kit .
  • UVC driver for Linux , which is currently included in the Linux kernel [6] .
