The Changan Automobile Group (translated as “Scarab” [1] ), also known as CHANA, is a Chinese automotive company. The third largest automaker in China [2] , ranks among the 20 largest manufacturers of the state [3] .

Content
History
The company was founded in 1862 in the city of Chongqing , then a small engineering factory was established. After 1949, when a revolution occurred in China, the factory became state-owned. From 1958 to 1962 compact army SUVs were produced there. In 1983, a joint venture with the Japanese firm Suzuki was organized. In 1995, the incorporation was carried out. The group of factories located in Chongqing became known as the Changan Automobile Group. In 2001, a joint venture with Ford Motor was established .
In August 2018, the company introduced the updated Changan CS55 crossover, which is a bestseller of the brand and is located in the model range between the CS35 and CS75 models, which are already sold in Russia. Changan CS55 2019 model year is equipped with the same 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 156 hp, a pair of which is a 6-speed automatic transmission [4] .
Activity
In 2008, about 700,000 cars were assembled at the company's factories. In 2010, it is planned to export at least 100,000 cars. In 2010, produced in the amount of 1.102 million cars [5] , in 2014 - about 2 million [3] .
Changan in Russia
In 2013, the Changan brand officially debuted on the Russian market. In 2016, the assembly of Changan CS35 crossovers began at a plant in the Lipetsk region [6] .
