Crane, David Sergeevich

David Sergeyevich Krein (initial patronymic - Abramovich ; 1869 , Courland province , Russian Empire - August 26, 1926 , Moscow , USSR ) - Russian and Soviet violinist and music teacher. Brother of composers Alexander and Gregory Kreinov.

He began to study music with his father, then studied in Nizhny Novgorod with Vasily Villuan and at the Moscow Conservatory ( 1884 - 1888 ) with Ivan Grzhimali . From the second year ( 1885 ) he played the second violin in the string quartet of the Moscow branch of the Imperial Russian Musical Society , in 1898 left this remote control due to the accompanist joining the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra (where he played until the end of his life), however, continuing his ensemble career in the composition of the Moscow Trio ( David Shore Trio).

Since 1918 , professor at the Moscow Conservatory. Among the students of Crane, in particular, Simon Bezrodny (father of Igor Bezrodny ) and Vasily Shirinsky .

The author of pieces for violin and piano.

Honored Artist of the Republic ( 1924 ).
