It is located 34 km southeast of the regional center of Maksatikha , on the Rameshki -Maksatikha highway (23 km from Rameshki ).
The village stands on the Tikhvinka River. To the east of the village is a large pond.
The population according to the 2002 census is 242 people, 124 men, 118 women. Together with the neighboring villages of Bachmanovo , Velikoye Selo , Vyshka , Kalikino , Pesogory, about 400 people. In summer, summer residents are added to them. Most old-timers by origin are Tver Karelians .

History
In 1859, the Karelian owner village of Trestna (24 yards, 247 inhabitants) and the churchyard Mikhailovsky (Trestna) with a church (5 yards, 33 residents) were listed on the list of settlements in the Tver province [1] . At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, the village of Trestna was the center of the parish (in the parish there were 15 villages, 467 households, 3456 inhabitants, all Karelians) and the Trestenskoy volost (29 villages, 3 villages, 6152 residents in 1887) of the Bezhetsky district of the Tver province . In 1887, in the village of 69 courtyards, 328 residents, a zemstvo school (founded in 1875), an inn, 2 forges, a tavern, a tea house and 3 small shops. In 1918 - 25 years of Trestna - the center of the same volost and village council of Bezhetsky district. In 1919 - 86 yards, 379 residents.
In 1996 - 104 households, 292 residents.
