Biography

Descended from an old German noble family, descended from Bohemia . He graduated from the Academy of Oriental Languages ​​in Vienna . In 1848, during the Revolution in Austria, he was arrested for calling for students to show insubordination to the authorities. Released thanks to the petition of the famous Austrian diplomat Alexander von Hübner to Field Marshal Windischgrätz (who had the right to shoot the rebels, guided by the conditions of wartime). December 19, 1867 entered into a secret marriage with Teresa, nee Baroness Bern. Two children were born from marriage - Maria Karolina Wilhelmina (October 25, 1868 ) and Franz Alexander (September 15, 1874 ).

Diplomatic Service

From 1850 Heimerle served as a translator at the Austrian embassy in the Ottoman Empire . From 1857 - Secretary of the Embassy in Greece , from 1862 - in Frankfurt am Main. From 1864 - Charge d'Affaires in Denmark . In 1866 - a member of the Austrian delegation during the peace talks with Prussia .

He worked as temporary charge d'affaires in Prussia , some time in 1868 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then in the embassy in the Ottoman Empire. From December 1869 he worked at the embassy in Greece, from 1872 in the Netherlands . Erected in baronial dignity.

After a short work in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1877, he was appointed ambassador to Italy . In 1878 - a member of the Austro-Hungarian delegation at the Berlin Congress .

Foreign Minister

On October 8, 1879, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria-Hungary instead of Count Gyula Andrássy . He maintained allied relations with Germany , sought to peace in the east. He died while in office.
