Creation
The original script for the film was called "The Breakaway." Then the scriptwriter Alexander Mindadze began to shoot his own picture , which he gave this name [1] as a director in another scenario. The film Proshkin became known as "Minnesota." At first it was just the name of the state, then something unrealistic, but incredibly desirable [2] . The director tried to maintain the expressive style of Mindadze, his strange, rhythmic, inverse dialogue. This determined the style of the film - and the rhythm, and a kind of over-charged, and even the way the actors exist [1] . The director speaks of “separation” as a state of mind: “Today they say:“ I have gone to separation ”. But there is also a gap: the ties between people are torn, the chain of generations, culture is torn, the feeling of self in the world is torn. This also has a metaphor. A window was opened for our heroes - and a hurricane blew into it. They so want everything to work out, so they want to make this spurt, that their whole life takes place at an elevated degree. Mindadze and I talked a lot about the “podium”, about elation over ordinary life. Therefore, our actors exist in some kind of artificial rhythm, which one does not like - they call the picture hysterical, while others, on the contrary, see the point in this ” [2] . For the role of an older brother, the director invited Sergei Gorobchenko, who is similar in temperament to his hero. The role of the younger brother went to the young actor Anton Pampushny, who at that time played one role in the movie. The hockey skills of the actors were taught by Eduard Ivanov - a hockey defender, Olympic champion.
The shooting took place in Yaroslavl, Rybinsk and Kostroma [1] .
