History
It was formed from November 1941 on the basis of the directive of the People’s Commissar of Defense (People's Commissar of Defense) of the USSR No. 22ss of October 29, 1941 in the Moscow Military District at Podmoskovnaya station. Armored trains were manufactured at the depot near Kazansky railway station [1] .
As part of the army from March 7, 1942 to May 1, 1943 and from January 6, 1944 to May 9, 1945 .
On November 24, 1941, the division was supposed to be sent to Ryazan , but the division was in reserve until March 1942. [2]
Composition

- The 1st armored train, 23rd, was renamed on December 17, 1942 to the 604th separate armored train, and then renamed on October 16, 1943 to the “ 620th separate armored train“ Hedgehog ”” [3] . Fighting and disbanding
After the formation of 23 odnbp arrived at the Volkhov front and from March 1942 to April 1943 runs on the railway line Budogoshch - Kirishi - Georgian , performs the task of covering the troops [4] . May 1, 1943 the division returned to Moscow , is in reserve until 1944. In January 1944, he returned to the Volkhov front , participating in the Leningrad-Novgorod operation [4] . In the spring of 1944 he was sent to the Karelian Isthmus , acting on the Leningrad - Sestroretsk branch. From June 1944, he participated in the Vyborg operation and after it, until April 1945, it is deployed in the Vyborg region [4] , in April 1945, he moved to Estonia , where he ended the war. [2]
Here, from May 18 to July 28, 1946, the 23rd unit was disbanded, while the combat unit was transferred to the 56th unit [5] .
