Baiteryakov, Nikolai Semenovich (August 9, 1923 - April 1, 1997) - Udmurt poet. Laureate of the State Prize of the Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1985). People's poet of Udmurtia (1986). Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR .

Nikolai Baiteryakov was born in 1923 in the village of Varzi-Yatchi (now the Alnash district of Udmurtia ) into a peasant family. He participated in the Great Patriotic War . In 1949-1951 he studied at the Izhevsk Regional Party School, in 1959-1961 - at the Higher Literary Courses in Moscow .

The first works of Bayteriakov were published in 1948. Since 1953, his collections of poems “Poems” (“Kylburys”), “Rural Lines” (“Gurtys churyes”), “Flowing like a river” (“Shur vu syamen”), “I give my heart” (“Sulamme kuzmasko”) ), “The river begins with a spring” (“Shur Kutsk is awesome”), “With love for life” (“Ulonez gazhasa”). He also wrote the poems “The Lost Song” (“Ystem kyrkan”), “When the Soldiers Depart” (“Soldier Ke Cat”), “Esterek”, “Zarnitsa” (“Zardon Kizili”) and a collection of children's tales and short stories “Pearls” "(" Markan ... ").

Nikolai Baiteryakov translated into the Udmurt language the works of S. Yesenin , R. Gamzatov , Lesia Ukrainka , K. Kuliev , Niul Erkai , S. Stalsky and others.

The poems of N. Baiteryakov were translated into Russian by V. Semakin, O. Poskrebyshev , L. Khaustova, G. Pagirev, V. Emelyanov , G. Ivantsov, G. Frolov, A. Fominykh and others.

Memory

In April 1999, in order to perpetuate the memory of the national poet of Udmurtia N.S. Baiteryakova, the central Mozhginsky library was named after him. In the same year, the poet's museum was organized in the library.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Bayteriakov in 2003, a bilingual collection of his poems was published, “Gene and Krezguren = Silver Melody”.
