Olaf Hampel ( German: Olaf Hampel , November 1, 1965 , Bielefeld , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German bobsledder who disperses, playing for the German national team in the 1990s. Took part in three winter Olympic games, twice Olympic champion, two-time world and European champion.

Biography
Olaf Hampel was born on November 1, 1965 in the city of Bielefeld , North Rhine-Westphalia . He began performing in a bobsled on a professional level in the late 1980s, showed some good results and in 1988 was invited to defend the country's honor at the Calgary Olympic Games. Overclocked the four-seater crew of Harald the Wonder , but the team came only eleventh.
Hampel's further career was connected with the pilot Christoph Langen , in 1994 they went to the Games in Lillehammer and won gold medals in the fours program. Success repeated four years later in Nagano , where their team of the same composition took another gold.
Among other things, in the track record of Hampel there are two gold medals of the world championships won in 1995 and 1996 at the competitions in Winterberg and Calgary, respectively. He also twice became the champion of Europe, at the 1996 championship in the classification of twos and fours.
