The film was made in a quasi-documentary manner based on the script of the documentary "River", which was not filmed, conceived by the director. as an attempt to follow the patriarchal way of life of the inhabitants of one of the Riga islands [2] .
Content
Story
A young docker living on the Riga island of Zakusala acquaints with a student Anita, who came to Riga from a small fishing village, at an archaeological site in the area of the dam construction of the Riga hydroelectric station . The girl accepts the invitation of the young man she liked to spend the evening in the club, where he plays in an amateur vocal and instrumental ensemble. After dancing, they go to Yanis, but the next day Anita unexpectedly returns home. All attempts by Janis to find her in an apartment with Riga relatives end in failure. Some time later, she herself finds Janis and talks about her pregnancy. He offers to move to him, in a newly received apartment. Considering his proposal aroused pity, Anita refused.
