Life and creativity
Lepolis was a student of artists Jean-Baptiste Reno and Horace Vernet . In 1819, Lepol entered the School of Fine Arts . In 1824, he with the painting "L'invention de la lyre" (the invention of the lira ) made his debut in Parisian salons , in which he constantly exhibited his works. In search of artistic impressions, Lepollet made numerous trips outside of France - to Italy, Belgium, Spain, and North Africa.
Lepol is known as an outstanding portrait painter, author of genre paintings and paintings on historical and mythological subjects, on theatrical and operatic topics. He was the teacher of the master of genre painting Philip Aron .
At present, the paintings of Lepolis are kept in the museums of Versailles, in the Carnavale Museum in Paris, in the museums of Flanders Valenciennes and others.
