Philippine Ministry of National Defense ( Tagalog: Kagawaran ng Tanggulang Pambansa, KTP ) - Executive Department of the Government ( Ministry ) of the Philippines . Responsible for protection against external and internal threats to peace and security in the country. He exercises executive control over the armed forces , the Department of Civil Defense, Veterans Affairs, the National College of Defense of the Philippines and the Government Arsenal. It is also responsible for disaster preparedness and management in the country.

It is led by the Secretary of the National Defense Council, who is a member of the president’s cabinet.
History
The Ministry of National Defense was officially created on November 1, 1939 in accordance with Decree No. 230 of President Manuel L. Quezon to implement the Commonwealth of Nations Law No. 1 or the National Defense Law of 1935.
