About Resource
The first version of the resource 500px.com appeared in early 2003. Then, due to the low bandwidth of the Internet channel, a resolution of 500 pixels was enough to put a photo on the site and display it on CRT monitors. With the simplification of access to high-speed Internet, a number of changes have occurred on the resource. Version 2.0 was released in 2009 [2] .
The creators of the site - Toronto residents Oleg Gutsol and Yevgeny Chebotarev - opened the site 500px on October 31, 2009. The resource gained 1,000 users in 2009, and as of June 2011, its user base has increased to 85,000 [3] .
In June 2011, the resource announced the attraction of foreign investment in its development in the amount of $ 525,000 from venture capital Deep Creek Capital and ff Venture Capital.
By October 2011, the number of users of the resource increased to three million [4] . New members are provided with a custom portfolio , however, free users are limited to downloading seven images per week [5] . When you buy a premium membership, this restriction is removed, and additional opportunities are offered.
The web version of the resource as of December 2011 supports the interface in the following languages: English, German, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese.
The resource has an application for Android , iPad and iPhone with the interface in Russian [6] .
The resource has a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom ®. [7]
