The GS Caltex Cup (formerly known as the LG Refined Oil Cup ) is one of the main Korean go titles. Since 1996, this tournament replaced the Kiwan title and until 2005 was held under the auspices of LG and was called the organization [1] . In 2005, LG split into two organizations - LG and GS ; the last became responsible for the cup [1] . The title is sponsored by GS Caltex Corporation and Mae-il Kyeong-che Sin-mun (Daily Economic News) [2] . The prize pool of the tournament is 50,000,000 won (about $ 50,000; the largest prize pool in South Korean tournaments) [2] . The competition involves 16 athletes playing in the playoff system ; The final match consists of five games. Time control is 4 hours of main time for each player with five battles lasting 1 minute [2] .
