Biography
Valery Alekseevich Smirnov was born on May 17, 1942 in the city of Ivanovo . Smirnov (Ryzhalov) Primary School He graduated in Minsk , participated in republican radio broadcasts - read poetry in Belarusian . Valery Alekseevich graduated from high school already in Ivanovo, where he also studied at the theater [1] team of the Palace of Pioneers [2] . Smirnov received his higher education at the Department of Acting at the State Conservatory of the Lithuanian SSR , where he studied under the leadership of the People's Artist of Belarus and Lithuania V. Ya. Golovchiner [2] [3] and State Prize laureate , Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR V. A. Galitsky [4] . The teacher is Honored Art Worker of Lithuania L. E. Lurie [5] . A diploma [6] was issued in two languages and the academic badge of a graduate of a higher educational institution of arts of the USSR .
During the years of army service, Smirnov led the “Svyazist” stage group of the HF of the Moscow Military District and is listed in the book of honor of the unit [7] .
After serving in the army in 1964 - 1967 he worked in the Russian Drama Theater in Lithuania , and from 1967 until 1970 in the Ivanovo Regional Drama Theater [2] . In 1971, Smirnov began work at the Kirov Drama Theater [2] and only in 1979 moved to the Leningrad YOUNG THEATER drama ensemble where he worked until 1987 . After until 1991, he worked at the Leningrad Komsomol Theater [2] .
Since 1991, he took up teaching [8] and worked in the Poetry Theater “At the Lavra” [2] , then in the theater studio “Avanstsena” of the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity in St. Petersburg [9] .
While working in theaters, Smirnov was elected chairman of the local committee of the trade union and a member of the revision committee of the regional committee of the trade union of cultural workers, chairman of the board [10] of the Kirov branch of the All-Russian Theater Society , then to the bureau of the theater actors section of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation , he was a member of the jury of the city methodological associations "Theaters of small forms" St. Petersburg State Theater of Theater. In 1999, Valery Alekseevich Smirnov was nominated for the title of “ Teacher of the Year ”.

In 1999, Smirnov’s directorial work on the play “The Nanny” was awarded a first degree diploma at the city’s review of author’s developments for the 200th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin . Based on this performance, Smirnov created the film "The Spring of the Poet's Spirituality" commissioned by the NIMC in the central district of St. Petersburg .
Awards
- 1965: By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 7, 1965, Valery Alekseevich Smirnov was awarded the jubilee medal "Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." The medal was awarded on November 13, 1965 .
- 1970: April 30, 1970 Valery Smirnov received the jury prize of the Creative Youth Review: For creating the image of Grachev in the play “Ten Days for Love” on the stage of the Ivanovo Regional Drama Theater [34] .
- 1973: On October 25, 1973, Valery Smirnov was awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Kirov Regional Committee of the Komsomol : For active participation in the speeches of the “ Blue Blouse ” campaign team of the regional headquarters of the Komsomol Searchlight and the editorial staff of youth programs of the regional television studio [35] .

- 1999: February 17, 1999 Valery Smirnov received a GRANT from the Open Society Institute and a First Class diploma for the play “Nanny” at the city competition of copyright developments dedicated to the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg and the 200th anniversary of Pushkin [39] .
- 2003: By a decree of the President of the Russian Federation of February 19, 2003, Valery Alekseevich Smirnov was awarded the medal "In memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg . " The medal was awarded on December 5, 2005 .
