Archimandrite Vasily Iviritis ( Greek Ἀρχιμανδρίτης Βασίλειος Ἰβηρίτης in the world - Michael Gondikakis Greek Μιχαὴλ Γοντικάκης ; born February 1936 , Heraklion , Greek Orthodox Churches , - rector of the monastery of Stavronikita (1968-1990), as well as rector of the Iversky monastery (1990-2005) on Mount Athos .

Biography
Born in February 1936 in Heraklion, on the island of Crete in Greece, where he graduated from high school.
He graduated from the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens and studied for three years in France, where he wrote his first work “Input: Elements of the liturgical experience of the sacrament of unity in the Orthodox Church”, published in 1972 in Greece.
Since 1965 he settled on Mount Athos , where he received monastic tonsure. From 1968 to 1990 he was rector of the monastery of Stavronikita .
From 1990 to 2005 he was rector of the Iversky monastery on Mount Athos. As hegumen of the Iversky monastery, he repeatedly visited Russia [2] and on September 9, 2005 received the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the monastery on Mount Athos [3] .
Since 2005, lives in the monastery (cell) of the Iversky monastery on Mount Athos [4] [5] .
