On August 1, 1873, he was assigned to the Main Directorate of the State Horse Breeding Department with the assignment of the responsibility for secretary and editorial units to it. April 15, 1874 he was promoted to full state councilors ; On August 1, he was allowed to accept the Austrian Order of Franz Joseph 2nd degree with a star, on December 12 he was dismissed at his own request from the post of correspondent for the Pskov province.

At a meeting of the Council of the Kazan Veterinary Institute, and on January 29, 1882, he was unanimously elected an Honorary Member of this institute. On May 15, 1883 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 2nd degree and on the same day he was granted a lease for six years, at 1200 rubles annually.
