Civil War
Kruglov took part in the Civil War as part of the 51st RKKA Rifle Division . In August 1920, the 51st division from Siberia was transferred to Northern Tavria, having unloaded near Borislav , took up positions on the right bank of the Dnieper . The change of location was caused by the onset of the offensive of the White Guard troops of Wrangel from the Crimea to the north. On the night of August 7, as a result of bloody battles, the Red bridgehead was conquered by a small bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnieper. The commander of the 153rd brigade Kruglov, which included the 457th and 458th rifle regiments, was tasked with putting forward the fighting forces on the occupied bridgehead and at any cost to hold the occupied positions. On August 12, the equestrian corps of General Barbovich, with the support of an aviation detachment, artillery, several tanks, armored vehicles with machine guns and carts, launched a powerful attack on the Reds. The 52nd and Latvian Rifle Rifle Divisions, unable to withstand the pressure, began their withdrawal through the positions of the 51st Rifle Division. For two days, the Kruglov’s 153rd brigade kept up the enemy’s onslaught, and on the third day, August 15, began its counteroffensive, making its way to the Grave of Ryasnoy, pulling out considerable white forces, thereby easing the position of other units. The 457th regiment for the operation on the Kakhovsky bridgehead was awarded the Honorary Revolutionary Red Banner . The brigade commander Kruglov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of the RSFSR [1] (Order of the PBC No. 201, 1921).
