Thermae romae

Thermae Romae ( テ ル マ エ ・ ロ マ エ Terumae Romae ) is a manga by Mari Yamazaki, published in Enterbrain's Comic Beam magazine since 2008. In 2010, the series won the Manga Taisho Prize [1] and won one of Osamu Tezuki's cultural prize nominations [2] . As of the end of 2011, more than 5 million volumes of manga were sold [3] .

Story

The main character of the manga is the Roman Lucius. He is not satisfied with the current situation of Roman society, considering it too dull and ideal. When he was in the bath , he was sucked into the sewer and transferred to a Japanese bath . Since then, every time he visits the baths, he falls into the future and learns many unique things, such as boiling eggs in hot water or distributing milk drinks.
