Geography
Included in the group of islands Semichi , which in turn are included in the group of the Near Islands. To the east is the island of Simia , to the west - the island of Alaid , with which Low is periodically connected by a sand spit. The island is about 5 km in length, its height above sea level does not exceed 51 m. The coastline is very rugged and includes many skerries .
In the XIX century, Russian fur traders brought foxes to the island, which destroyed the local population of many birds. The last fox was removed from the island only in 1976. Today, such species of birds as the Little Canadian Goose , Kamchatka (Aleutian) Tern, puffins, etc. [2] nest on the Low.
